Water Leak Detectors: Ground Microphone & Listening Stick | Aquascope 3

back to products

The Aquascope 3 Ground Microphone has superior clear sound quality using digital technology, which has almost eliminated the background static noise. This significant reduction in background static noise has made it easier for new operators to become good leak finders.

Features

  • Digital leak noise analysis displays real leak noise level
  • Automatic memorisation of leak noise levels for comparison
  • Ergonomic amplifier with comfortable waist belt – avoids neck strain
  • High performance sensor developed for correlation technology
  • Infinitely adjustable, narrow band-pass filter to suppress ambient noise
  • Graphical and digital leak information on LCD display with backlight
  • Robust Ground-Mike with wind-and-ambient sound proofing
  • Hand-probe for direct ‘contact sounding’ on pipes and fittings
  • Tri-pod foot for ‘surface sounding’ on soft ground
  • Robust, field-proof design
  • Extremely easy to use

Aquascope 3 Sound Files

Listen to the Aquascope 3 in action ....

The digital Aquascope-3 can be supplied as a listening stick (for listening to leak noise activity from direct contact onto the pipe, valves or fittings) and tripod foot for surface listening on loose/uneven ground.
Alternatively, it can be supplied with a shrouded geophone foot (ground microphone) for improved sound monitoring above the suspected leak position.

By listening at regular intervals (above ground) along the line of the pipeline being surveyed, the user is able to identify both audibly (via the headphones) and visibly (from an integral display) where the strongest leak noise activity is located.

Digital leak noise analysis displays real leak noise level
The AQUASCOPE-3 automatically samples and records the lowest noise level during the listening session, indicating the true leak noise without ambient interference. The exact value is shown on the LCD display in digital format, plus a visual graph of the actual noise level.

Automatic memorisation of leak noise levels for comparison
The true leak noise level is automatically memorised during ‘sounding’. The operator can display and compare the last 8 leak noise levels for a greater level of confidence in achieving precise location or confirmation of the leak position.

Universal amplifier belt offers superior user-comfort
Although the AQUASCOPE-3 amplifier is extremely lightweight at 0.27 kg) it is ergonomically designed with a 'universal band', which can also be worn as a waistband or shoulder strap to avoid neck strain often related with more conventional acoustic locator amplifiers. The amplifier offers easy operation and a clear display of leak information on the backlit LCD display.

Narrow band-pass filter suppresses interference and ambient noises
The infinitely adjustable narrow band-pass filter allows the operator to suppress any unwanted interference and background noise, and to reduce the audible range to the exact leak noise frequency.

Shielded, robust ground microphone with high performance sensor
The microphone ‘foot’ is robust, weather proof and acoustically shielded against non-leak interference. It incorporates the same high performance sensor especially developed for leak noise correlator technology.

Versatile hand-probe for direct ‘sounding’ and leak location on soft ground
The hand-probe incorporates a handle and the same high performance sensor as the microphone foot. It allows direct listening on fittings, includes 3 extension rods to adapt to on-site conditions, and is delivered together with a magnetically attachable tripod foot, allowing leak location on soft ground.

Extremely simple, user-friendly operation
Special attention has been paid to extremely simple operation in spite of its powerful built-in features, rendering the AQUASCOPE-3 the perfect leak locating tool for any field operator, irrespective of his level of leak detection experience
